Nomograms, sometimes called alignment charts, are graphical calculators that are closely related to the old-fashioned slide rule. They are particularly convenient in many practical situations (e.g., engineering design calculations) because they limit parameters to their useful ranges and they permit the display of typical parameter values. The capacitive discharge nomogram shown here depicts the relationships between charge Q, voltage V, capacitance C, and capacitive energy Ue.

You can draw a straight line on this interactive nomogram by clicking and dragging the mouse and then releasing the mouse button. You may re-draw the line as many times as you wish; the line previously drawn will disappear. Values of all four parameters for the line drawn appear at the right.
